Dental Fillings

Cavities, otherwise known as tooth decay or caries, is the dissolving of the tooth enamel. Enamel is the hard outer layer of your teeth. In order to prevent any further damage a dental filling can be recommended. Fillings are designed to stop decay and strengthen the damaged tooth structure, a filling will not however be as strong as the natural tooth.

Dental Filling Options:

  1. Composite resins, tooth colored fillings, provide protection from further destruction. They are mostly used for anterior teeth or small fillings.

  2. Dental amalgam, silver fillings, are mainly used for big fillings and molars. They are also less expensive than composite fillings and having a longer life span.
